First school visit!

María Azzurra Riezzo, Early Stage Researcher 2 of the DYNACOMP network, participated in the visit of “Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos” high school to IMDEA Materials Institute past 06/02/2018. She showed to the audience how composite panels are manufactured.

Training on “communicating at the workplace”

The Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) of the DYNACOMP project received a 1 day course on “communicating at the workplace” last 27/11/2017 at IMDEA Materials Institute. The course covered the following topics:

  • Leadership and teamwork (Tuckman model, situational leadership, social styles)
  • Best Known Methods (BKM) about email communications
  • Giving & receiving feedback
  • Effective meetings
  • Goal setting
  • Negotiation


The course was deliverd by Roberto Espinosa.

Science Week Madrid 2017

María Azzurra Riezzo, Early Stage Researcher 2 of the DYNACOMP network, participated in Madrid Science Week 2017. The Madrid Science Week (organized by Madri+d) is an outreach initiative of science, technology and innovation addressed to all audiences of all ages and scientific levels that takes place throughout the Region of Madrid. It contributes to discuss the challenges that society is facing and promotes public awareness of science, increases accessibility to scientific knowledge and generates new ways of social participation. Its main aims are to disseminate the results of research, opening spaces where it is performed and foster scientific careers and entrepreneurship among young people

Researchers’ Night Madrid 2017

María Azzurra Riezzo, Early Stage Researcher 2 of the DYNACOMP network, participated in Madrid Researchers’ Nignt 2017. This event is part of the European Researchers’ Night, a Europe-wide public event dedicated to popular science and fun learning. It takes place each year on the last Friday in September. Around 30 countries and over 300 cities are involved.

María joined the activity entitled “Researchers working in industry. European Corner“, where fellows belonging to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions conducted hands-on experiments related to their research activities. During the event, Maria explained the mechanical behaviour “Silly Putty” mechanical (a toy based on silicone polymers that have unusual physical properties).

Summer school sucess

Young scientists and engineers have wrapped up their three-day course on the nature and structure, processing, properties and applications of composite materials at IMDEA Materials Institute in Getafe (Spain).

14 students from ATG Europe B.V, University of Castilla la Mancha, Wroclaw University of Technology, Coventry University, Ideko S.Coop and IMDEA Materials Institute attended daily lectures by leading scientists from academia and industry. In the afternoons, the students were given practical lessons on the processing on composites and modeling.

The summer school on composite materials was supported by the DYNACOMP project, as part of the training of the 2 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) of the network.
